Step, hop
A film for young audiences exploring skipping, a simple movement that depicts freedom and evokes joy without pretence, and comes naturally to children and young people. In contrast most adults are unable to move freely outside the bounds of convention. ‘Step, Hop’ is a commission by Catherine Wheels Make Space fund, which focuses on the fundamental elements of skipping, the step-hop movement. The film seeks to value skipping as a vital expressive and joyous physical expression in its own right, as well as recognising the many ways in which skipping features in a multitude of dance forms.
Created by Bridie Gane, featuring Katie Miller.
Camera and edit by Lucas Chih-Peng Kao and Bridie Gane.
With thanks to staff and pupils at Athelstaneford Primary, Neilston Primary and Lyra.

The End of the World Show
Let your climate cares get gently swept away in the loveliness that is The End of the World Show! A spoof 1970's TV show that completely disregards the warning signs and see's us through right to the end...
A short dance film that explores our sense of unease around our future, playing with our familiar, funny, ridiculous skills of procrastination and denial as the climate deadlines loom.
Funded by Creative Scotland with thanks to Dance Base.

Reception
Trapped inside the Dance Base building ever since it was closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, two receptionists create their own entertainment to pass the time whilst slowly driving each other mad.
